Our family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of our precious mother, Edna Grace Baker, 90. She passed away peacefully at 3:32 a.m. on Thursday morning January 21, 2016. We are relieved that her passing was peaceful and painless and she was surrounded by her loved ones. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2016, at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Chapel. The Rev. Jonathan Fitzpatrick and the Rev. Kenneth Moses will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in Webster's Chapel. Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home & Cemetery is in charge of the services. Mother was the most loving precious mother and grandmother. She was so kind, giving and such a hard working christian woman. With sad and grateful hearts we place her in the arms of Jesus. Her last request would be for her family to embrace each other and to love and take care of each other for family is our greatest gift from God. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Evans Baker; her loving son, Ricky Dennis Baker; adored great-grandson, Zachary Evan Baker; her parents, John Wesley and Daisy Ford; brothers, Earl, Troy and Patrick Ford; sisters, Beatrice Rose, Evelyn Buford, Mildred Clark, Hazel Ford and Sarah Cole. She is survived by her children, Huey Evans (Linda) Baker, of Webster's Chapel, Reva Baker, Mayes (Billy) Crumley, of Sharpsburg, Ga., Richard Allen Baker. of Webster's Chapel; grandchildren, Titus Dale (Valarie) Mayes, Kristie Baker (Jonathan) Fitzpatrick, Jeffry Evans (Kimberly) Baker, Trina Baker and Shonna Baker (Chris) Logan; great- grandchildren, Crystal Gail Mayes, Kaycee Lynn Mayes, Jordan Leigh Fitzpatrick, Joshlyn Taylor Fitzpatrick and Chloe, Bryant and Hunter, grandchildren of Ricky Dennis Baker, great-great-grandchildren, Alexis Faith Fetter, Paris Hope Chamblee and Kaylee Bell Mayes; brother, Larry Joe Ford, sisters: Addie Sue Ford Crow and Betty Jean Ford Phillips and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Chris Logan, Jerry Clark, Glen Rose, Gary Bonds, John Edward Crow and Mike Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffry Evans Baker and Titus Dale Mayes. Special thanks to Hospice and our wonderful, kind caregivers, Cynthia and Carmel. We appreciate the kindness and loving care of Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Chapel for their warmth and compassion in transporting our precious mother back home to Alabama. Thank you to our generous neighbors and church family for your prayers and support. We appreciate the excellent, personal care of Dr. Dwayne Watkins in Griffin Georgia.
