Funeral service for Edna Louise Preston, 95, will be Saturday, December 10, 2016, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home and the Rev. Jerry Starling will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be for the family only at Dogwood Trail Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Oxford. Mrs. Preston passed away Thursday at Diversicare in Oxford. Survivors include a son, Terry Preston and his wife, Margaret, of Anniston; two grandchildren, Jimmy Fox and Mandy Fox and a brother, Jay Baggett (Betty), of Newnan, Ga. Mrs. Preston was preceded in death by her husband, T.J. Preston; her parents, Lewis Newton and Mary Jane Walker Badgett; brothers, Lewis Baggett (Helen), Al Baggett (Lib); sisters, Hazel Wiggins (Ray), Mamie Brown (Ralph), Adele Smith (John), Verta Johnson (Aubry) and Gue Baggett. Pallbearers will be Tommy Howel, Kenneth Howel, Mike Wiggins, Steven Baggett, Jimmy Fox, and Mike Stinson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Lakeview Baptist Church Home Bound Group. Mrs. Preston, a native of Cleburne County, and lived most of her life in Oxford. The family would like to extend special thanks to Sissy Skinner and her staff at Autumn Cove and Diversicare Nursing Home for the loving care they provided her for years.
