Edward R. 'Ronnie' Parker, 71, of Jacksonville, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017 with his wife by his side. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens at 2:00 pm with Paul Starr officiating. Ronnie is survived by his wife, Dean Starr Parker; his children, Edward Parker (Angela), Amanda Smith, Kelly Barnes (Jeff), Philip Rhodes (Allison); six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brother, Danny Parker (Carol); brothers and sisters in law, John O'Heary, Leslye and Tom Jones, Mark and Jean Starr, Paul and Vanessa Starr; special friends, Ursula Smith and Sheron Rollins, and his best buddy, Scooter, who never left his side. Ronnie was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville and worked 20 years with Napa Auto Parts running the machine shop and then worked 13 years for Logan Construction Company. He was of the Baptist faith. Thanks to Southern Care Hospice for their care, especially Miranda and Shirley and to Dr. James Yates. A big thank you to Jimmy Logan, Sheron Rollins, Steve Williams, Mack Fair, Jason Lively, Johnny Arms and Monica Key for all they did for Ronnie when he couldn't do things anymore.
