Edwin Martin Pettus passed away on November 25, 2017 in Anniston after a long battle with RA. Visitation will be at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary, Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 12:00-1:00 pm followed by a graveside service at Forestlawn Gardens. Edwin was born May 24, 1940. He served in the US Army and retired from Noble Signs after 31 years. He was an avid outdoors person and loved everything of nature. He was a "jack of all trades" and was very resourceful at coming up with ideas to make, build or fix anything. He liked to call them "Ed-ventions" and Shirley called him a very handy man to have around. Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Anna Pettus; brother, Tommy Pettus and sisters, Sandra Griffin, Myra Lindsey and Joan Pettus. Edwin is survived by his wife, Shirley Dew-Pettus; step-children, Michael Hinds, Angel Poulin (Ricky), Shane Dew (Tiffanie) and Eric Dew; step-grandchildren, Christopher Gruber (Mel), Jason, Derrick and Emily Dew; step-great-grandchildren, Jillian and Jackson Gruber; and nieces Deanna Wallace, Deb Williamson and Sherry Griffin. A special thank you to Alacare Hospice nurse Jennifer; caregivers, Darlene and Megan and social worker, Rodney for the care given. Online condolences made at www.graybrownservice.com
