Elbert Lamar Hollingsworth, 68, died January 31, 2014 at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his parents; Hubert and Louise Hollingsworth, of Anniston; a brother, Bill Hollingsworth, of Nashville, Tenn. and his father-in-law, J.W. Albright, of Anniston. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Ann Albright Hollingsworth; his daughter, Sarah Hollingsworth, of Louisville, Ky.; his brother, John Hollingsworth (Lou), of Birmingham; his aunt, Billie Canada; his mother-in-law, Deane Albright; two sisters-in-law, Janie Albright Morrow (Larry) and Laura Albright Phillips (Bob), of Anniston; several nieces and nephews and many cousins. Mr. Hollingsworth was a graduate of Anniston High School and Trevecca Nazarene University, Nashville, Tenn. He was a communicant of St. Edward Catholic Church, Nashville, Tenn. and a proud Catholic who devotedly studied the Bible. Mr. Hollingsworth was retired and had been disabled by a stroke. He was an avid reader and author of short stories. He possessed a wealth of knowledge about many subjects, but his passions were religion and literature. Books were his best friends; never to be discarded. Mr. Hollingsworth said his two greatest accomplishments in life were his daughter, Sarah and earning his Bachelor's degree at the age of 62. A funeral mass will be celebrated on April 5, 2014, at 2 p.m., at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Anniston. Mr. Hollingsworth was cremated in accordance with his wishes and those of his family.
