Funeral service for Elie Higgins, Jr. "Petey", 64, will be on Saturday, December 26, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Ross Reed Jr. officiating. Interment with military honors to follow in Eden Hills Cemetery. Mr. Higgins passed away on December 19, 2015 at Tanner Medical Center in Georgia. Mr. Higgins's remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to his service. Mr. Higgins served in the United States Marine Corp. and he attended Shelton State Community College. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn H. Higgins; daughters, Karen Watford, Elienna (Jarvis) Minnefield, Shekema (Chris) Heath, Danica Higgins, Tandreka Higgins and Lindy Higgins; sons, Teairtho Heath and Quadree Higgins; 11 grandchildren, 3 great- grandchildren; siblings, Carolyn (JT) Monroe, Gwendolyn McCall, Shauna Deneen McCall, Tameka McCall, Derek (Tanya) McCall and Michael (Loretta) McCall; in-laws and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elie Sr. and Mildred Higgins; sister, Sandra Higgins; step-parents, Tina McCall and Lillie Mae McCall; father and mother-in-law, Mary and George Heath; in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
