Funeral service for Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Wernick, 81, will be Monday, January 25, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel with Steve Strange officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 - 8. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Wernick died on Friday, January 22, 2016, at her residence. She is survived by her daughter, Sonja Wernick McDonald, of Anniston; two sons, Vernon Wernick, of Coldwater and Richard (Barbara) Wernick, of Witchita, Kan.; five grandchildren, Brandon McDonald, Kayla McDonald Humphries, Jacqueline Wernick, Zackery Wernick and Taylor Wernick; two great-grandchildren, Zoey and Braxtyn Humphries; one sister, Mildred Soper, of Waldorf, Md.; one brother, Alton Folks, of Va. and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Brandon McDonald, Colby Humphries, Donald Lindsay and Ronnie Williams. Mrs. Wernick was Baptist by faith. She had a love for animals and was a member of the ASPCA. Mrs. Wernick enjoyed spending time with her family and visiting with her friend Mary. She loved going to eat at Jack's in Lenlock and also Western Sizzlin'.
