A graveside memorial service for Mrs. Elizabeth Fain "Libby" Mattox, 84, of Lineville, will be conducted on Saturday July 18, 2015, 10 a.m. in the Clay County Memory Gardens with the Rev. Dorothy Ann Webster officiating. Mrs. Mattox passed away on Tuesday July 14, 2015, at the Lineville Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was a native of Clay County and a former resident of California and Canada where she had worked in a number of clerical and administrative positions in the banking industry. Mrs. Mattox returned to Clay County in 1960 where she continued to work in that capacity at Farmers and Merchant's Bank and the Clay County Probate Judge's office. In 1980, Mrs. Mattox began a 33 year career as Admissions Clerk at the Clay County Hospital, retiring in 2013. She is survived by her son, Drexal Roger Mattox, of Lineville; her grandsons, William Ashley Mattox, of Lineville and Ethan Wade Mattox, of Tampa, Fla.; her great-granddaughter, Lillian Elizabeth Mattox, of Huntsville; one sister, Era "Teense" Veal, of Birmingham; one sister-in-law, Obera Fain, of Tallahassee, Fla. and a number of nieces, nephews and other extended family members. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service. The family requests no flowers; however, memorial contributions may be made to the church or .
