Funeral service for Ella Mae Hawkins Curry 92, will be on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at noon at the Mt. Liberty Baptist Church with Pastor Walter J. Turner, Jr., officiating. Emtombment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Masoleum. Mrs. Curry passed away on September 19, 2017 at Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Curry's remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to her service. Mrs. Curry was a member of the Snow Creek District and the Heavenly Wonders Gospel Singers. Survivors include her children: Gladys A. Curry, Avis Curry, Gloria J. Sanford, Rachael Thomas, Preston Curry Jr., George (Belia) Curry, Theodore Curry; stepson: Tommy (Mary) Russell; siblings: Mildred Moore, Lynnwood Hawkins; grandchildren: Serena, ShRandell, Shernise, Vickie, Mhonque; 7 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Fred D. Hawkins and Louise Sterling Hawkins, husband, Preston Curry Sr., a child, siblings, Emmanuel, Ezra (Josephine), Fred Jr., Bessie (Al) Cochrane.
