Rev. Ellis H. Ford, 84, of Anniston, completed his earthly race on Thursday, November 16, 2017. Ellis, Herbert, or Uncle Herbert, whichever you knew him as, was born in the Halls Chapel community in Weaver, Alabama on November 26, 1932 to the late LC and Martha Ford. Ellis was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He had an extensive life of ministry, in Alabama and Florida with the Church of God International, Cleveland, TN. He currently was a member of Harvest Church of God and continued to preach and teach at any given invitation. He enjoyed hunting and was an AVID Alabama Football fan, but he loved family most of all. Ellis was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Carmen Jackson. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 63 years, Jacqueline "Jackie" Ford; son, Stephen Paul Ford of Groveland, FL; son, Ellis Russell Ford (Jackie) of Hixson, Tennessee; twin brother, Rev. W.H. Ford (Lorene) of Anniston; sister, Ann Henegar (Howard) of Stanfield, North Carolina; grandchildren, Shae, Lindsey, and Crystal Ford; 4 great grandchildren; many cherished nephews and nieces, cousins, and extended family. The family will receive friends at Harvest Church of God on Friday, 5-8 pm and Saturday 1-2 pm. The funeral service will be at the church on Saturday at 2 pm with Bishop Jerry Irwin, Rev. W.H. Ford, Rev. James Bandy, and Rev. Hollis Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Edgemont Cemetery. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the amazing staff, both at RMC and NHC. To our family who so diligently served during an incredibly difficult time, we can never express how appreciative and grateful we are!!! Online condolences made at www.graybrownservice.com
