Funeral service for Elmer Hale, 80, will be Saturday, December 3, 2016, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home. The Rev. Wayne Eden and the Rev. Kenneth Hutto will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Oxford Memorial Gardens. Mr. Hale passed away on Tuesday at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital. Survivors include his wife, Nellie Ruth Hale; daughters, Bernadette Clark and Regina Julian (William); sons, James Hale (Terri), Gerald Hale and Michael Hale; brothers, Ray Hale (Gloria) and Earl Hale (Patsy); sisters, Eileen Fisher, Willow Dean Anderson, Beatrice Musser (Larry) and Emma Jean Shulaw (Burl); sister-in-law, Vivian Hale; numerous grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Hale was a native of Kentucky and a resident of Coldwater. He was retired from the US Army serving during Vietnam and was assigned to the 101st Airborne and received the following National Defense Service Medal, National Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. Mr. Hale was member of First Baptist Church of Homewood Acres.
