A memorial service for Emily Brooke Beam Smith, 41, of Canfield, Ohio, formerly of Anniston, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Golden Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Wilton Brantley and Dr. Roland Brown officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until the service hour at the church. Emily passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016. Survivors include her sons, USAF Special Operations Independent Duty Medical Technician-Paramedic, Rowland Mackenzie Coyle, and Merrill Thomas Voytko; her parents, Allyson and Ronald Barker and Jim and Rhonda Beam; sisters, Carmen Beam Newsom (Reaves), Maggie Beam, and Anna Barker Johnson (Justin); brothers, David Wyatt and Scooter Barker (Krista); and nephews, Grant, Will, and Russell Newsom, Dylan and Jensen Barker, and Luke and Jackson Johnson. Emily had a heart for God. She loved her family and was fiercely protective of them. Her love for life, family and friends pales in comparison to her love for her two boys. She was extremely proud of the men they are becoming. Emily was a force to be reckoned with. Her hugs were as big as her heart, and her heart was as big as her mega-watt smile. Her humor was "ginormous"; her laughter, infectious; and her smile contagious. She will be missed.
