Mrs. Emogene Acker Abbott, 95 of Ohatchee passed away October 18, 2017 at Jacksonville Health and Rehab. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Ohatchee United Methodist Church with the Reverend Cheryl Blankenship officiating. Mrs. Abbott was a native of Ohatchee and retired from the State of Alabama. She was employed with the Social Security Administration office with more than 40 years of service. She was the oldest member of Ohatchee United Methodist Church. Mrs. Abbott is preceded in death by her parents, T.S. and Ruth Acker; husband John L. Abbott; brother, Gerald Acker. Mrs. Abbott is survived by step son, Larry Abbott; sister-in-law, Mary Emma Acker; nephews; Slayton, Aaron (Debbie), and Mark (Joy) Acker; niece, Carol McNew (Lane); and caregivers, Ronnie and Sue Bryan, and Ruth Howard.
