Funeral service for Ernest Mitchell, 87, will be 1 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2015, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Doug Matthews officiating. Burial will follow at Mitchell Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11-1 p.m. at the church. Mr. Mitchell went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at his residence. Survivors include one daughter, Neresa Dunaway (David); one son, Ernest Duane Mitchell (Sandra); two sisters, Irma Lee Mitchell and Lucille Magouirk; one brother, Henry Mitchell; four grandchildren, Joshua Dunaway, Jeremiah Dunaway, Adriane Mitchell and Diane Langston (Andrew); four great-grandchildren, Kayla Dunaway, Madison Boling, Jaycie Langston and Evie Langston, several nieces and nephews. Mr. Mitchell is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel C. Mitchell; and sister Bertha Vice Pallbearers will be Jeremiah Dunaway, Josh Dunaway, Andrew Langston, David Dunaway, Ricky Cole and Mickey Medlock. Mr. Mitchell was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Mr. Mitchell was a U.S. Army veteran and he retired from Snow Glass Company after 26 years of service. Online condolences may be made at www.graybrownservice.com
