Funeral service for Mr. Erwin Fay Bono, 77, of Anniston will be 2 p.m. Thursday, December 4, 2014, at Gray Brown-Service with Pastor Mark McGee officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mr. Bono died Monday at RMC. Survivors include his close companion and ex-wife, JoAnn Bono, of Anniston; daughter, Patricia Bono Ledbetter (Kenneth), of Elkton, Fla.; sons, Jason L. Bono (Heather), of Carrollton, Ga.; and David Roberts (Kelly), of Anniston; brothers, Zane Maurice Bono (Judy); and Winston Allen Bono (Margaret), both of Greenbrier, Alaska; grandchildren, Evan Ledbetter, Brennan Ledbetter, Erin Ledbetter, Anthony Roberts, and Kale Bryant Roberts; nieces and nephews, Bobbi Jo Conboy, Nancy Sue Allen, and Wesley Bono. Mr. Bono is preceded in death by his wife, Elfriede Bono; sisters, Joy Nell Bono, Sybile Lee Barnwell, Sherry Gail Scott; brothers, Charles Edwin Bono, William Gene Bono, Edward Ray Bono and Wayne Bono. Pallbearers will be Anthony Crenshaw, Sam Dailey, Bruce Dunston, Randall Stephens, Randall Parris, Jonathan Crenshaw. Mr. Bono retired as a decorated 1st Sergeant in the U.S. Army after 26 plus years of service. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam and was stationed in Germany for many years. He enjoyed classic country music, college football especially Arkansas and Alabama football and Clint Eastwood movies. Mr. Bono loved life and telling jokes. He will be greatly missed.
