Funeral service for Ester Butler Hanna, 91, of Hobson City will be Thursday, October 24, 2014 11 a.m. at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, 227 B St Anniston, AL. The Rev. Clarence A Shuford, the Rev. Anthony D. Shuford, the Rev. Smith Butler and the Rev. Otis Clayton will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Hanna will lie in state on Thursday at the church from 10:30 until service time. The family will receive friends on today 6-8 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home. Mrs. Hanna passed away on Monday at Regional Medical Center. Survivors include her daughters, Greata Hanna Roberson, Phyllis Hanna Shuford (Clarence); son in law, James Wade; special daughter, Brenadette Burford; special friend, Mary Peavy; a host of special grandchildren; a special host of great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be James Wade, Marcus Hall, Billy Lott, Willie Sutton, Gerald Scott, and Rickey Brown. Mrs. Hanna was retired from Calhoun County Training School and C.E. Hanna School. She was a founding member of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Hanna also served as a deaconess. She was a lifelong resident of Hobson City.
