Funeral service for Eugene B. Weathers, 67, will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, November 22, 2014, at the Seventeenth Street Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Fred Durant officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Forestlawn Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Weathers will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service. Viewing will be held today 1-8 p.m. at the Chapel with a Family Hour from 6-8 p.m. The Goodson Funeral Home, Inc. directing. Survivors include his loving wife, Mrs. Gladys Odessa Weathers, of Anniston; nine children, Anthony Russell, of Anniston, Eugene Weathers Jr., of Bessemer, Joseph Weathers, of King George, Va., Vanessa (Louis) Winchester, of Anniston, Alice (Juan) Russell, of Birmingham, JoAnne (David) Turner Anderson, of Birmingham, Carolyn Weathers, of Anniston, Shalika Weathers Finley, of Anniston, Cherita (Clifton) Weathers, of Anniston, and a special son - his dog, Sampson Weathers; siblings, Carolyn Leonard and Shirley Leonard, both of Baltimore, Md.; 46 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren, and a host of great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Samuel Russell; parents, Joseph and Queen Ella Weathers; siblings, James Mims and Zane Mims Rivers. Goodson Funeral Home, Inc.
