Funeral service for Eulene East Lowery, 88, of Anniston will be 11 a.m. Saturday March 16, 2015 at Gray Brown Service with the Rev. Debbie Hitchcock and the Rev. David Teel officiating. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. On Monday a beautiful morning with birds singing and the sun shining, God, The Father, in his infinite wisdom and mercy took unto Himself, his servant, Eulene East Lowery to her new home in Heaven, one of eternal peace, joy, and love. Survivors include her sister, Barbara Walls and husband, Thomas A.; nieces and nephews, Judy Maynard West (Stephen), Emelyn Renee East, Watts East (Billie), Wayne East (Sandra), Richard Lee East, Danny Lee East (Beverly), David Lee East (Tammy), Thomas Alan Walls, Thomas A. Walls Jr. (Tracey); and a host of beloved nieces and nephews from the Lowery family. Mrs. Lowery is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years and 363 days, Herman L. Lowery; parents, H. Carson and Roxie East; sister, Lottie Maynard (J.D.); brothers, Brinton H. East (Marie Taylor) and Fred Lee East (Virginia Taylor). Pallbearers will be her nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be the Sunshine Sunday School Class at McCoy United Methodist Church and the Telephone Pioneers. Mrs. Lowery was employed by Southern Bell Telephone, later AT&T, for 35 ½ years. She loved all activities and attended regularly the Anniston Chapter of Telephone Pioneers after retiring in 1983. She was a faithful member of McCoy United Methodist Church for over 55 years. She served in many capacities during those years. She truly had a servant's heart. She was very active member of the Anniston Chapter for The Council for the Blind. Many years their home was the gathering place for all the volunteers, members, and friends who worked the annual White Cane Drive. Rest in peace, Eulene, you have earned your heavenly reward.
