Mrs. Eva Nell Pinson, 86, went home to be with the Lord on June 3, 2016, where she joined her husband, Ralph, after a short stay at Jacksonville Health and Rehabilitation Center. A native of Fort Payne, Mrs. Pinson was the youngest of four children born to Andrew and Ruth Shankles. In the late 1950s she moved to Anniston to pursue a career in nursing. After graduating Nursing School, Mrs. Pinson worked for Anniston Memorial Hospital and eventually met and married Ralph, with whom she had twin boys. Mrs. Pinson later attended modeling school in Birmingham and went on to become a successful fashion model, being selected to go to New York and walk the runways during Fashion Week. After retiring from modeling, she opened Eva Pinson Charm School, where she enjoyed teaching area women the finer points of life. With a keen eye for fashion, Mrs. Pinson worked for Wakefield's Department Store, where she excelled in sales, was a part-time buyer, and became a regular member of The President's Club, a membership of distinguished salespersons in the company. She organized, managed, and emceed various fashion shows around the county and recruited local ladies and gentlemen to participate in the venues. Mrs. Pinson was a long-time member of Parker Memorial Baptist Church. She raised her family in the admonition of the Lord and made everyone she met feel special. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Pinson is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Ralph Lee Pinson, and her siblings, Lois V. Henry, Lillian Whited and Andrew Shankles Jr. Survivors include her sons, Lee Bennett Pinson and his wife, Malissa Michelle Pinson, of Pelham, and Ralph Edward Pinson and his wife, Lora Leigh Pinson, of Anniston, and two grandsons, Reid Alexander Pinson and Roman Blake Pinson. In memory of Mrs. Pinson, donations may be made to Parker Memorial Baptist Church, PO Box 2104, Anniston, AL 36202. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.klbrownmemorychapel.com. K.L.
