Lincoln - Funeral services for Ms. Evelyn Vice Martin, 70, of Lincoln, will be Saturday, January 4, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home and Crematory with the Rev. Paul Lett officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Ms. Martin passed on December 31, 2013 at her son's home. Ms. Martin is survived by her mother, Lavada Vice; children, Marie Martin Manning (David), Steve Martin (Valerie), Debbie Mathis (Steve), Tony Martin, Sherry Rickles (Kevin), Alan Martin (Amanda), and Chad Vice (Kat); seventeen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and brothers, Jerry Vice, Harold Vice, Kenneth Vice, and Howard Vice. She is preceded in death by her father, Floyd Vice; husband, Henry Martin; daughter, Sharon Martin and sister, Nancy Vice. Ms. Martin was an artist by nature. She was very creative and had a green thumb. She was a very determined woman and was almost a perfectionist. Ms. Martin was a caregiver by nature. She always took care of others and would take anyone under her wing who needed it. She always pushed her children to do their best and made sure they had what they needed in life. She loved a challenge and solving puzzles was a favorite past time. Ms. Martin impacted numerous people's lives and anyone who knew her, loved her. Ms. Martin will be missed by every single person she knew. She provided hope for the hopeless. Miller Funeral Home
