Funeral service for Evia "Onzell" Murray, 93, will be 3 p.m., Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Gray Brown-Service with the Rev. Sonny Champion officiating. Burial will follow at Golden Springs Congregational Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until service time. Mrs. Murray passed away Friday morning at Golden Living Nursing home. Survivors include daughter, Charlotte M. Woodruff and husband Jerry, of Greenville S.C; grandchildren, Kimberly Murray Santero (David) and Andy Murray, both of Blytheville Calif.; sisters, Marie Miller Bunn, of Anniston and Sarah Ruth "Pat" Fitzgerald, of Oxford; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Murray is preceded in death by son, Edward B. "Sonny" Murray; granddaughter, Regina Ann Murray and several sisters and two brothers. Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers will be David Fitzgerald, Kenny Bunn, Michael Twilley, Billy Bunn, Jackie Shelton, Jerry Miller, Ronald Miller and Donald Miller. Mrs. Murray was a native of Anniston and was the daughter of John Hugh and Lydia Simpson Miller. Mrs. Murray was a long time member of Carpenter United Methodist Church and of the Cora Martin Sunday School Class. Later in life she joined St. Mark United Methodist Church. She was employed with Anniston Sportswear for forty-two years. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Golden Living and Southern Care Hospice for the care they gave Mrs. Murray during her illness, especially to Judy Matthews, the Hill family and to the best aide of all Stephanie. And to her care takers David and Pam Fitzgerald and daughter Sarah F. Harkins. Hospice staff Lori, Penny, Peggy, Dana and Heather.
