Funeral service for Mrs. Faye Henderson Alexander, 86, will be today, August 31, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Lineville Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Colquett and Pastor Keith Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Clay County Memory Gardens. Mrs. Faye passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at the Lineville Health and Rehabilitation Center. A Randolph County native, she had lived in Opelika before settling in Clay County in 1946. Mrs. Alexander was a nursing assistant for the Clay County Nursing Home and had also worked as a seamstress for Higgins Manufacturing and Southland Manufacturing. Mrs. Faye was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mentor, and friend who exemplified the Christian life. She was a member of Lineville Baptist Church. Mrs. Faye is survived by two daughters, Glinda Spivey (Glenn), of Mobile and Linda Williams (Edsel), of Dadeville; two sons, Gary Henderson (Teresa), of Ashland and Randy Henderson (Terri), of Prattville; one sister, Peggy Grimes, of Opelika; eight grandchildren, Dwight Spivey, Kelli Fleming, Stephanie Williams, Jarrod Henderson, Joshua Henderson, Jacob Henderson, Regina Fields, and Tommy Cantrell, and 16 great-grandchildren, Victoria Spivey, Devan Spivey, Emi Faye Spivey, Reid Spivey, Kelsey Whigham, Keaton Fleming, Kelen Kae Fleming, Kooper Fleming, Brianne Williams, Alaina Thweatt, Jasmine Thweatt, Kayla Williams, Grayson Cantrell, Gabe Cantrell, Amelia Moore and Kristen Fields. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Callie Henderson; her second husband, Al Alexander; one sister, Bobbie Higgins; one brother, Ray Smith, and sister-in-law, Jenell Smith; one grandson, Brandon Williams; one granddaughter, Tina Thweatt and her dear friend, Melba Dawkins. Pallbearers will be Dwight Spivey, Jarrod Henderson, Josh Henderson, Jacob Henderson, Keaton Fleming, Keith Fleming and Paul Whigham. She will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Lineville Baptist Church, P.O.
