The family will receive friends Friday from 11-1 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Williamson passed from this life on December 24, 2016, at her home, surrounded by family. Mrs. Williamson was born in Calhoun County, on April 21, 1916, the fifth child of Abbie Milton & Lula Pearl Cobb. Born and raised in the community of Choccolocca, she graduated from White Plains High School, was a lifelong resident of Anniston, and faithful member of Weaver First United Methodist Church for over sixty years, leaving the area only after declining health prevented her from living independently. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother who selflessly lived to serve others, often putting their needs above her own. She enjoyed being outside, doing activities such as pitching softball to her grandchildren, working in her vegetable and flower gardens, and taking nature walks through the woods. In addition to doing needlework, she was an excellent cook, and rarely turned down the opportunity to play a game of dominoes, which she often won. She is survived by: her daughter, Florence Jane Williamson of Estill Springs, TN and daughter-in-law, Susan Pound Williamson of Amory, MS; grandchildren: Kahrensa "Koko" King (Chris) of Guntown, MS, Michael Williamson of Amory, MS, Thomas Williamson (Lori) of Smyrna, TN, James Williamson of Harvest, AL, Charlene Williamson, of Estill Springs, Tenn., and Jennifer Ditman (Timothy), of Madison; great-grandchildren, Lakin, Erin, Coby, Mason, Alex and Addy Williamson, Hunter and Colton King, all of Miss.; sisters-in-law, Euna Mae Cobb Turner, Irene Cobb Arbuckle and Charlotte Cobb, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Abbie Milton and Lula Pearl Cobb of White Plains; her husband, of 59 ½ years, Shelton Millard Williamson, of Anniston; sons, Wayne Shelton Williamson, of Miss., and 1st Lt. James Calvin Williamson; siblings, Drenon Cobb, Milton Cobb (Clarice), Isabelle Chapman (Melvin), Boyd Cobb (Katie), Arnold Cobb, Hoyt Cobb, Horace Cobb (Mary Frances), Doris Cobb, Joe Cobb and Mary Curvin (Lee). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Weaver First United Methodist Church. Gray Brown-Service Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
