The funeral service for Mr. Frank W. Reid, Sr., 96, of Anniston, will be at 1 pm on Friday, September 15, 2017 at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs with Lin Veasey, CRE officiating. Entombment will follow at Forestlawn Mausoleum. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service hour on Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Reid passed away on September 9, 2017 at his home. Mr. Reid served his country with honor in the United States Coast Guard during World War II. He began tax preparation part time in 1962 working for Crumpton Income Tax Service. He retired from the US Post Office in 1976 and went into business full time for himself. He retired from tax preparation at the age of 90. He was also a founding member of Church of the Covenant Presbyterian. He is preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Martha C. Reid, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Reid, and a brother, William Edward Reid. Mr. Reid is survived by a daughter, Martha Reid (Craig) Johnson; sons, Frank W. Reid, Jr., Bill (Diane) Reid, and Tim (Teresa) Reid; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Church of the Covenant Presbyterian, 75 Lenlock Lane, Anniston, AL 36206 or to . The family wishes to thank Dr. Warren Wallace, Mr. Reid's caregivers, Wanda Brown, Linda Lynn, LaToya Patterson, and Alysse Reid; Rheta Cobb, his hospice nurse, and Tricia Holbrooks, his hospice caregiver.
