Funeral service for Gary Curtis King, 70, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Alexandria with Dr. Garry Ragsdale and the Rev. Tim Wells officiating. The burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening (Saturday) from 5-8 p.m. at the Anniston Memorial Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Crawford King; his children, Scott King (Sheila), Phillip King (Kimberly), Jennifer Clayton (Chad), Jason King (Shelly) and Jeremy King (Suzanna); his sister, Frances Vogeler (Charles); his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Jones, Joshua Jones, Hannah Clayton, Wes Clayton, Will Clayton, Christian King, Layla King, Hayle King, Jeremy "J.T." King, Seth Hurst, Kelisha Feazell (Matthew) and Kenisha Eden, and great-grandchildren, Annelise Feazell, Brodie Eden, Alivia Feazell and Eliza Feazell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Elizabeth King; grandson, Keith Eden and great-grandson, Will Brimer. Pallbearers will be Christian King, Joshua Jones, Seth Hurst, Clint Quarles, Donnie Robinson and Rufus Holland. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men's II Sunday School Class, Jerry Tice, William Sandy Smith and Brownie Hammond. Gary was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for many years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He loved fishing, supporting Alabama football and spending time with his dog, Puppup and checking on his cows.
