Funeral service for Mr. Gary Eugene "Papa" Ledbetter, 62, will be Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Lakeview Baptist Church in Oxford with Bro. Mitch Shelton officiating and burial following at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-8 at the church. Mr. Ledbetter passed away Saturday, September 6, 2014, at Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham. Mr. Ledbetter is survived by his wife, Deborah Ledbetter; daughters, Tracy (Dax) Hanvey and Shelley (Chris) Lindsey; sons, Shane (Carol) Ledbetter and Corey Ledbetter; Papa's babies, April Ledbetter, Carson Lindsey, Khloe Hanvey, Callie Ledbetter, Andrew Ledbetter, Camden Lindsey, Noah Ledbetter and Sloan (Beanie) Lindsey; sisters, Gloria Keel, Carolyn (Benney) Mitchell, Susan (Alan) Wall and brother, Rickey (Toni) Ledbetter. Mr. Ledbetter was preceded in death by his father, Truby L. Ledbetter and mother, Doris Lorene Mullinax. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Mr. Ledbetter was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County and Marshall County. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving from 1970 to 1973. He graduated from JSU in 1978, worked at the Anniston Army Depot, Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville with 38 years combined years of service with the government. He served as a Chaplin with Regional Medical Center, Golden Living Nursing home and Calhoun County Jail Ministry. Papa was a patriarch, loving husband, father, Papa and friend to all who know him.
