A memorial service for Genevieve Coker Hill, 91, will be held today, September 6, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Anniston. Mrs. Hill died Friday, September 2, 2016, at NHC Healthcare in Anniston. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service today at the church. Mrs. Hill was born in Gary, Ind., but lived virtually her entire life in Alabama, having grown up in Lincoln and Gadsden, and spending her entire adult life in Anniston. She and her husband, Ira, established Hill's Moving and Storage in the 1950s and Hill's Service Company in the 1970s. She was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church, where she was a teacher for the Neysa Coker Sunday School Class. She was a woman of great faith. Because of her love of learning and her need to help others she authorized her body to be donated to the University of Alabama Medical School for educational use. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fletcher and Florence Coker, and her husband, Ira M. Hill. Survivors include her daughter, Betty Fletcher Hill Jackson, and her husband Robert; a sister, Betty Nell Holdsambeck, all of Anniston; a sister-in-law, Marie Hill Hall, of Gadsden, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the First United Methodist Church of Anniston or to .
