Funeral service for George C. Lacey, 90, of Shinbone will be Saturday, January 17, 2015, 11 a.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home. The Rev. Ted Anderson and the Rev. Pat Hurst will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Manning's Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time at the church. Mr. Lacey passed away on Wednesday at his residence. Survivors include his wife, Betty Lacey; son, Jerry Lacey (Joyce); son, George E Lacey (Ronda); daughter in law, Deborah Lacey; grandsons, Jeremy Lacey, Jeff Lacey and Jason Lacey, step son, Karl Waits (Phyllis); step grandchildren, Emily Masten, Justin Waits, great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Masten; brother, Walter Lacey; sisters, Clara Smith, Effie Slick; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Eddie Brown, Cody Brown, Brandon Brown, Mark Shultz, Billy Hay and Andy Hay. Mr. Lacey was injured in WWII where he received a Purple Heart. Mr. Lacey enjoyed fishing, wood working and working on the tractor.
