George C. Medders, 65, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017, in Eastaboga. Visitation will be held today, February 11, 2017, from 10 - 11 a.m. with the funeral immediately following at Dryden Funeral Home at 1467 Almon Street, Heflin, Alabama. George is survived by his wife, Stacey Medders; his sons, Derek (Storm) Medders and Heath Medders; his sisters, Susan Wahl, Judy Fults and Jeannie Medders, all of Tenn., and Joanne (Carlton) Bohannon, of DeArmanville; his aunts, Nancy Barker, of DeArmanville, and Barbara Hudson, of Fla.; his uncles, Keener (Hilda) Hudson, of Anniston, and Rowe (Helen) Hudson of Fla.; seven grandchildren, Mary (Mark) O'Connell, Shean Medders, Blaise Medders, Devin Medders, Nicholas Medders, Annalise Medders and Warren Medders; two great-grandchildren, Jasen and Victorya O'Connell; his mother-in-law, Sylvia Albea; his nephew Cody Albea, and Kristin Pugh. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Jane Medders; his former wife, Peggy Curlee, and his granddaughter, Krista Leigh Medders. George was a lifelong resident of Alabama. He was loved dearly by his family and friends and loved them in return. George will be missed by his wife, Stacey, his sons, Derek and Heath, and all that knew him. "For men are not cast off by the Lord forever. Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love. For he does not willingly bring affliction or grief to the children of men" Lamentations 3:31-33.
