Funeral service for George Palmer Martin 92, will be on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at noon at the Rocky Mount Baptist Church with Rev. Stevie Houston, officiating. Interment will follow at Lebanon Cemetery. Mr. Martin passed away on November 22, 2017 at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital. A wake will be this evening 6-8 pm at the Chapel. Survivors include his children: Gladys Smith (Elderidge), Horace (Phyllis), Raymond (Carrie), Brenda Alston (Davis), Freddie (Mattie), Trenice (Regina) and Ronald (Annette); siblings: Rosie Hughes, Mary Taylor, Debra Choc, Herman (Mary), Frank (Mary), Wilton (Maxine), Willie (Mattie), Huston (Donna); 19 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, George, Sr. and Lonnie Martin, his wife, Ocie Lee McClendon Martin, siblings, Sherman (Lannie), Eddie B., Azell (Mertha), Elizabeth Miller, Jeanette Anderson (Bill), Christine Gordon (George), Mary Alice Stanton (Wallace) and Viola Jones (Moses), grandchildren, David and Lenora Holiday, in-laws, Leslie, James, Charles.
