Graveside service for Mr. George "The Greek" Govatos, 84, will be today at 11 a.m. at Lincoln City Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. He is survived by his children Gregory (Jackie) Govatos and April (Randy) Langley; grandchildren, Jackson Govatos, Morgan Govatos, Jamie Shaddix, Peyton Brasher; great-grandchildren, Rylan Shaddix and Melanie Shaddix. He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Sue Govatos and parents, Jimmy and Annie Mae Watson Govatos. Pallbearers will be Tommy Buzan, Frank Wyville, Cody Shaddix and Randy Langley. George Govatos, known as "The Greek", was married to Sue, the love of his life for 53 years. Born in Corpus Christi, Texas in 1953 and moved to Lincoln in 1958 where he opened his restaurant The Dairyland. He spent the next 35 years of his life doing what he loved, which was enjoying friends and family and serving the community.
