Funeral service for Geraldine Brown Morgan Wood will be today at 2 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with Bryan Dunaway officiating. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour before service time. Survivors include her son, Ricky Joe (Linda) Morgan, of Eastaboga; her twin sister, Bonnie Jean Hughes; five grandchildren, Shannon, Chris, Shane, Penny and Kim and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walker and Claudia Brown; her daughter, Donna Sue Reaves; siblings, Melba West, Olma Tucker, Gaynell Tucker, Audrea Higdon, William Walker Brown Jr., Imogene Brown, Billy Brown, Aline Brown and Royce Ray Brown. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Mrs. Wood was a Baptist by faith and learned to sew at a very early age. She became a well know seamstress in Cullman, Jacksonville, Anniston and Ft. McClellan. Many believed she was the best seamstress in Alabama. She and her twin sister won a singing contest in high school and went on to win the state talent competition. They both played the snare drums in high school band. She and her sister always dressed alike. She loved listening to Gospel music at all night singings and at home, if she was awake, it was playing.
