Funeral service for Gladys V. (Doss) Lancaster, 95, will be today at 1 p.m. at Gray Brown Service Chapel with Franklin McGee officiating. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Lancaster passed away November 1, 2014 in Jacksonville. Survivors include her daughter, Myra Dean (Gunnells) Hannah, of Weaver; grandchildren, John Holloway (Sylvia) of Alaska, Michael Holloway (Lisa), of Va., Jeran Griffin (Robert), of Ohatchee, Victoria Holloway, of Anniston, Robert Holloway, of Anniston, Jerry Hannah (Kendra), of Talladega and Danielle Paris (Barry), of Weaver; twelve great- grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lancaster is preceded in death by her husband, Billy M. Lancaster; her parents, Rev. John L. Doss and Minnie I. (Haynes) Doss; her daughter, Patsy J. Lowery; eight sisters and six brothers. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Mrs. Lancaster was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County and a member of Cane Creek Baptist Church. She retired from Kitchens department Store.
