A funeral service for Glenda Penny Scott, 64, will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 2 p.m. at K. L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs with the Rev. Dr. Roland Brown and the Rev. Stan Albright officiating. Burial will be in Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12-2 p.m. on Wednesday. Mrs. Scott died Saturday at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Johnny Scott; son, Jonathan Keller Scott, daughter-in-law, Kelly Scott; granddaughter she loved very much, Harper Hicks Scott; a twin sister, Linda Burdette and her husband Tommy; a caregiver, Trina Montgomery; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Wood, Johnny Ingram, Butch Munroe, Steve Jacobs, Mike Penny and Bobby Goss. Mrs. Scott was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oxford. She was in the nursing profession for 40 years; serving Regional Medical Center for 20 years, Seton Home Health for 10 years and managed the two medical clinics at Honda for 10 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Curtis and Helen Penny; brother, Jerry W. Penny; sister, Janice L. Russell.
