Gordon Harold Johnson, 76, died Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Crisp Regional Health and Rehab. Mr. Johnson was a native of Jamestown, N.Y. and the son to the late Harold Nathan Johnson and the late Bernice Beebe Johnson. Memorial services for Mr. Johnson will be at a later time in Anniston, Alabama. Mr. Johnson graduated from Jamestown High School in 1956. He served as active duty in the United States Marine Corps from May of 1957 to May 1959. He also served in the United States Air Force Reserves from June 1977 to November 1986. He was also a member of the Old Guard and served for John F. Kennedy's funeral. He later retired from the Federal Civil Service as TV/Audio repairman in January 1993. Mr. Johnson was a member of Faith Presbyterian Baptist Church in Anniston where he served as a deacon. He was also a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed being a handyman in his retirement. Mr. Johnson was predeceased by his first wife, Barbara Anderson Johnson; his brother, Charles E. Johnson; his sister, Clarice Johnson Milner. He is survived by his wife, Jean Johnson; of Cordele, Ga.; his son, Daniel Allen, of Dothan, Ala.; his daughter, Cynthia Ann Mc Brayer and her husband, William, of Cumming, Ga.; his brother, David Johnson and his wife, Jo Nell, of Jamestown, N.Y.; his sister, Nancy Johnson Hitchcock, of Faulkner, N.Y.; his granddaughter, Grace Elizabeth McBrayer; his sister-in-law, Mary Jo Cox, of Cordele, Ga.; his brother-in-law, Zeke Trussell and his wife, Sharl Ann, of Cordele, Ga.; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS, 66675. These services have been entrusted to Hughes & Wright Funeral Home.
