H. Reed Moore III, of Talladega, passed away Friday, November 9, 2012, at, 64. Born in Tampa, Fla., he lived the majority of his life in Talladega. He was a 1966 graduate of Talladega High School, attended the University of Alabama and earned a degree from Jacksonville State and Louisiana State University Graduate School of Banking. Moore was a past President of the Talladega Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club and several other organizations. He served as a Director at Citizens Hospital, on the Talladega Airport Board and many other civic organizations. Moore was also a long time Director of the Community Bankers Association of Alabama directly tied to his long time career as a community banker at First National Bank. He was a member of The First Baptist Church of Talladega and the Whosoever Will Men's Bible Class. Moore is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rita Dear Moore; sons, H. R. "Chip" Moore IV and wife, Shannon, William Lewis Moore and wife, Katie and Andrew Luker Moore; parents, Harry R. and Evelyn Moore; sister, Linda Harrison and husband, Ed; uncle, A. D. Lewis and wife, Sandy; niece, Britni Martin and nephews, Troy Alan Smith and William Reed Harrison. Moore was known in the community for his integrity, wisdom and willingness to be a good friend to anyone. He enjoyed spending time with his family at the beach as well as hunting and fishing. For the past five years, his main hobby has been his grandchildren. "Daddy Reed" is also survived by Harrison Reed, Margaret Reed "Maggie", Wyatt Raymond and Lucy Frances. The family of Mr. Moore will have private graveside services. They will receive friends Monday, November 12, 2012, from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at The Whosoever Will Men's Bible Class. Honorary pallbearers will be the Whosoever Will Men's Bible Class of First Baptist Church of Talladega and Board of Directors of First National Bank of Talladega. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to the Whosoever Will Men's Bible Class 216 North Street East, Talladega, AL 35160. Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega will direct.
