A memorial service will be held from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014, for Harold David "Pops" Epperson, 76, will be held at his home in Southside. He died July 25, 2014. Mr. Epperson served in the United States Army and later retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber after 31 years of service. Harold had many special friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Bernice Epperson; brother, Ronnie Epperson. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sandra Epperson; son, Greg (Tonia) Epperson; grandchildren, Daniel (Becky) Bates, Crystal (Hank) Jobson; great grandchildren, Coby and A.J. Jobson; sister, Nadean Hankins, Helen (Dee) Brown; brothers, Kenneth (Rovene) Epperson, Alton (Veronica) Epperson, Ray (Judy) Epperson; sister in law, Sharon Epperson; a host of nieces and nephews, special cousin and friend; Liwana and Larry Schatz and his special little girl Chloe. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Etowah County Humane Society. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Rickey Jenkins, Paul Curvin, John Estes, Tommy Lackey, and Jerry Dempsey.
