Harold Edward Washington Jr. was born on June 29, 1963 to Harold and Anna Washington, in Nashville, Tenn., and entered into eternal rest and ecstasy, December 22, 2013. Services will be Friday, December 27, 2013, at 12 p.m. at Seventeenth Street Missionary Baptist Church in Anniston with entombment at Maple Grove Cemetery & Chapel Mausoleum. The viewing will begin at 11 a.m. with the family visitation beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the church. During the course of his years Edward, as he was fondly called, experienced an enriched life. At an early age he professed faith in the Lord Jesus and was baptized by the late Rev. N. Q. Reynolds into the fellowship of the Seventeenth Street Missionary Baptist Church. He received his education in the Anniston City School System, Morehouse College (Atlanta, Ga.) and Jacksonville State University. He was employed at the Home Realty Company for more than 15 years as an associate broker and million dollar producer. He was admired for his dedication and the pride he took in his work. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. Dr. D. C. Washington Sr. and Mrs. Bessie M. R. Washington, Mr. Louis Higgins and Mrs. Gertrude I. Higgins. He will be greatly missed by his family members: his parents; sister, Valerie Hester; brother-in-law, Hosea Hester; uncles, aunts and a host of cousins and friends.
