Harvey "Snake" Laney, 88, of Anniston, Ala. passed away, Saturday, December 20, 2014 at his daughter's home in Gulf Breeze, Fla. Harvey was born October 13, 1927 in Anniston, Ala. to Lula and Theodore Laney. He worked at Union Foundries as a Supervisor for 50 years. On December 26, 1965 he married the former Frances K. Price of Piedmont, Ala. He was an avid boater, fisherman, hunter, a National Champion Bow Shooter, and in his early years loved to ride his motorcycle and worked at the Talladega track changing the scoreboard before it went digital. Harvey was a dedicated Alabama Football fan, "Roll Tide Roll". Harvey is survived by his daughter, Diane Laney Cleveland, of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; two step daughters, Marie Howard, of Anniston and Mona Lynn Roberts, of Orange Beach, Ala.; a brother and sister in law Kenneth & Eloise Carter, of Anniston; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances; step daughter, Patricia Crosby; step son Bobby Smith. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
