Hazel Caldwell, 80, formerly of Hobson City, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014, at her residence in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was a former member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church and presently a member of the Greater Community Church of Chattanooga. She retired from the Fort McClellan Army Depot as a culinary chef. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Gussie Elston; sisters, Josie Lee and Esther B. Vaughn; brother, John R. Elston. Survivors include daughters, Shirley Elston, of Chattanooga and Patricia Bradford, of Anniston; 5 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Clark, of Anniston; brothers, Charles (Martha) Elston, of Anniston and William (Ann) Elston, of Nashville; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Oak Ridge Baptist Church with the funeral to follow at 12 noon with Pastor Kelvin Elston as the eulogist. Burial will be at the Sunlight Cemetery in Eastaboga. Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home of Chattanooga, Inc.
