Funeral service for Helen Cain Walley, 82, will be held Sunday, April 3, 2016 at 2 p.m. at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs. Entombment will follow at Forestlawn Mausoleum. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Walley passed away Friday, April 1, 2016, at White House Rehab & Health Care Center in White House, Tenn. following a prolonged illness. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Neola Albright Cain; husband, Dewey Edwin Walley Sr.; brother, William Cain; sisters, Frances Felmet and Sue Walley. A lifelong resident of Anniston, Mrs. Walley was born January 24, 1934 to William and Neola Albright Cain. In her early years, Helen worked hard alongside her family and helped care for her younger brother Harry. She attended Jacksonville High School and met her husband, Dewey Edwin Walley Sr., over a monopoly game hosted by her sister, Sue, who was married to Dewey's brother. They married in September of 1952 and then worked side by side to build Walley Clegg Company, where she served as treasurer. She enjoyed investing in the stock market and has been described as a savvy business woman who was ahead of the times with investing. She was passionate about Alabama football and was a big supporter for over 60 years. She is survived by son, Dewey Edwin Walley Jr. and his wife, Carol Holley Walley, of Grecia, Costa Rica; daughter, Sonya Walley Tate and her husband, Ronald Joe Tate, of White House, Tenn.; grandchildren, Dewey Edwin Walley III of Boston, Mass.; Sarah Tate Stratton, of Hendersonville, Tenn., Emily Cain Tate, of White House, Tenn., and Joseph Brian Bell Tate, of White House, Tenn.; brother, Harry Cain, of Cumming, Ga.; several nieces and nephews.
