Henry "Snooky" Grubbs, 72, died Thursday, December 18, 2014 at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today, December 20, 2014, at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Brooks, the Rev. Jason Reaves and the Rev. Wallace Higgins officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Deanie Grubbs, of Heflin; daughter, Lisa Ligon, of Heflin; son, Stanley Grubbs, of Chulafinnee; step-daughters, Debra Reaves, of Newell and Catherine Helton, of Heflin; sister, Rose Marie Grubbs and brother, Eddie Grubbs, both of Heflin; grandchildren, Trey and Garrett Coffman, Riley and River Ligon, Amanda Brown, Justin Grubbs, Jason Reaves, April Breed, Dena Jimenez, Jimmy Rogers, Beth Barnett, Melissa Bishop and Juanita Rogers as well as 15 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will Jimmy Curlee, David Spradlin, Casey Bishop, Trey Coffman, Garrett Coffman and Steven Morrow. Mr. Grubbs was a native and life long resident of Cleburne County. Snooky was a loving father and stepfather. Mr. Grubbs was a Baptist by faith, a life long farmer and trader and retired from Anniston Army Depot. Mr. Grubbs was preceded in death by his parents, Mallory and Geraldine Grubbs; daughter, Angela Marie Grubbs and one step-daughter, Brenda Rogers.
