Services for Homer "Boots" Maddox, 85, will be Friday, October 27, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. at Thompson Funeral Home with Mr. Evan Kirby and Mr. Josh Clevenger officiating. Burial will follow at Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mr. Maddox passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Collinsville Health and Rehab. Survivors include two daughters, Kim Clevenger (Jeff) of Ashville and Kelly Maddox of Piedmont; ten grandchildren, Chris Clevenger (Melissa), Josh Clevenger (Amy), Kristin Kirby (Evan), Shauna Carothers (Ben), Haley Baker, Jessica Clevenger, Ashley Clevenger, Ava Clevenger, Olivia Clevenger, and Gemma Clevenger; seven great grandchildren, Lilly Woodring, Maddox Clevenger, Ella Kirby, Clara Jane Carothers, Rylee Clevenger, Lydia Kirby, and Joni Carothers; one sister, Margie Davis (John) of Spring Garden; and two brothers, Travis Maddox (Judy) and Bunk Maddox (Glenda) all of Piedmont. Boots retired from Standard Coosa Thatcher and was a faithful member of Highway 9 church of Christ. He loved fishing and treasured spending time with both his family and his church family. He married his beloved wife Johnnie on January 15, 1959, and they enjoyed 57 wonderful years of marriage together. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
