Howard "Cowboy" Brimer, 86, died Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at deceased's residence. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 18, 2015, at Chulafinnee Baptist Church with the Rev. Philip Morris, officiating. Burial will follow in Chulafinnee Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, December 17, 2015 from 5 until 7 p.m. Dryden Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include wife, Dorothy Jones Brimer, of Delta; daughter, Jane Brimer Campbell, of Delta; son, Wayne Howard Brimer, of Springville, Ala.; sisters, Lilly Ruth Kilgore, of Moody and Barbara Ann Beason, of Anniston; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Mr. Brimer was a graduate of Oxford High School, Class of 1947. Cowboy retired from G.E. Oxford and Huntsville, Helena Chemical Company and Colbert County CO-OP. He was a resident of Athens Alabama for 51 years and recently returned to Clay County. Cowboy was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Lee and Bessie Brimer; three sisters, Dorothy Yates, Frances Horn, Cathleen McCormick; one brother, Charles Brimer.
