Funeral service for Howard H. Hartley, 80, will be Thursday, May 12, 2016, 1 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in Oxford. The Rev. Scott Smith will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11 a.m. until service time at the church. Mr. Hartley passed away on Monday at his residence. Survivors include his wife, Gayle Hartley; son, Greg Hartley; daughter, Debra Jennings; son, David Hartley; daughter, Rhonda Hartley; grandson raised by grandparents, Michael Hartley; nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be sons and grandsons and great grandsons. Mr. Hartley was preceded in death by his mother, Mable Williams; special aunt and uncle; Etta and Lester Russell, and a grandchild, Kristian Hartley Jennings. Mr. Hartley was retired from the U.S. Air Force with 20 years of service and also retired from the Anniston Army Depot with over 20 years of service. He was a former Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and Leader for the Senior Adult Ministry at Munford Baptist Church. Mr. Hartley was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and was a member of the Senior Saints and Faith Fellowship Sunday School Class.
