Funeral service for Howard Lee Clark, 82, of Ohatchee will be 1 pm. today February 12, 2015 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Ohatchee with his grandchildren officiating along with Pastor Doug Matthews and Gray Brown-Service in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Mitchell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Mr. Clark passed away February 10, 2015 at RMC Anniston. Howard a devout Christian, was a loving husband, caring father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a US Army veteran who served as a medic during the Korean War. He also was a long time employee of the Anniston Foundry Company and retired from the Anniston Army Depot. Because of his strong faith and strong work ethics, he enjoyed a long retirement farming, spending time with family and friends and maintaining his enduring relationship with his heavenly Father. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Betty Clark; daughter, Charlotte Hurst (Rodney); son, Phillip Clark (Judy); grandchildren, Phillip Michael Clark, Chasta Shuler, Jared Clark, Jesse Clark, Julie Buchanan, Kristena Clark and Laura Hurst; nine great-grandchildren; brother, James Clark; sister, Nellie Cleveland; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Mr. Clark is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Orleen Clark; son, Michael Clark; brothers, Joseph, Bernard, Thomas, Chuck; sister, Hazel Mitchell. Pallbearers will be Rodney Hurst, Julie Buchanan, Laura Hurst, Phil Clark, Phillip Clark, Jared Clark and Jesse Clark.
