A memorial service for Hoyt Olin Thompson Jr., 67, will be Monday, August 31, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel with the Rev. Steve McGinnis officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service. Mr. Thompson died on Friday, August 28, 2015, at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Melody Ann Thompson, of Heflin; two sons, Brian Olin (Edith Mae) Thompson, of Anniston and Michael Keith Thompson, of Heflin; seven grandchildren, Miley, Casey, Justice, Doug, Caleb, Hailey and Katelyn Thompson and his mother, Betty C. Thompson, of Heflin. Mr. Thompson was a Cleburne County native and served his country in the U. S. Marine Corp which included two tours in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his father, Hoyt Olin Thompson Sr. and a brother, Michael Allen Thompson. Online condolences to the family at www.klbrownfuneralhome.com. K.L.
