Graveside service for Hubert Hughes, 87, of Anniston will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Forestlawn Gardens with the Rev. Scott Smith officiating. Mr. Hughes passed away Wednesday in Anniston. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Ann Hughes, of Anniston; daughter, Teresa Roper (Lynn), of Anniston; sons, Kennith Hughes (Gayle), of Ball Ground, Ga., Keith Hughes (Kecia), of Oxford; brothers, Robert Lee Hughes (Mary Ruth) ,of San Antonio, Texas., Franklin D. Hughes (Irene), of Douglasville, Ga.; grandchildren, Sandra Warren (Barry), Kevin Roper, Kristi Talbot (Eric), Philip Hughes, Andrew Hughes, Jeremy Free, Joshua Roberts; great- grandchildren, Rebekah Roper, Rynn Roper, Todd Warren, Hope Roper, Savannah Roper, Logan Roper, Arrie Talbot and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Hughes is preceded in death by his parents, Cashus and Alice Hughes; brothers, Robert, Irvin, Bill, Tom Hughes; sisters, Dot Brendle, Anna Jean Burns, Marion Young, Essie Lequire; grandson; Kennith Hughes Jr. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Mr. Hughes was a native of Bryson City North Carolina and a resident of Calhoun County. He was a veteran in the Korean War and a member of the Baptist Faith. He was a retired electrician from AOD.
