Funeral service for Imogene Tolbert, 86, will be Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at Piedmont Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 11-1 p.m. Mrs. Tolbert passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at her home. Survivors include two children, Linda Stewart (Gary), of Oxford and Butch Tolbert (Jean), of Piedmont; four grandchildren, David Holland (Annette), of Cambarra, Australia, Beverly Davis (Bobby) and Brandon Tolbert (Shannon), all of Piedmont and John Sessions (Nina), of Corpus Christi, Texas; 10 great- grandchildren, Miranda Poole, Hunter Poole, Kayla Davis, Shelby Holland, Ava Holland, Mia Holland, Jack Tolbert, Sam Tolbert, Ben Tolbert and Ellie Tolbert; two great-great-grandchildren, Miraeha Chambers and Carter Chambers; one sister, Sara Holbrooks, of Piedmont; one brother, Harold Alred, of Minnesota; several nieces and nephews; and caregiver, Rita Shad. Pallbearers will be Brandon Tolbert, Tom Robertson, Michael Tolbert, Bobby Davis, Jim Garrard and Hunter Poole. Mrs. Tolbert was a native and lifelong resident of Piedmont. She was a homemaker and served on the first City of Piedmont Parks and Recreation Board. She was an avid Alabama fan and loved to go to the Sports Complex and watch all of her grandchildren play ball. She enjoyed very much spending time with her family and especially all of the grandchildren. Mrs. Tolbert was preceded in death by her husband, Earl H. Tolbert; her parents, Jay and Shellie Alred; brother, J. B. Alred; two sisters, Betty Simpson and Lois Gilley.
