Funeral service for J. B. Wade Jr, 91, will be Sunday, November 26, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Piedmont with the Rev. Kevin Payne officiating. Burial with masonic graveside rights will follow at Hanks Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mr. Wade passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017, at his home. Survivors include his wife, Janice Wade, of Piedmont; one son, Steve Wade (Debbie), of Trussville; one daughter, Sandy Lawler (Ronnie), of Piedmont; one stepdaughter, Alisa Hollis (Dan), of Pell City; one step son, Dr. Kevin Dobbs (Tahya), of Brandon, Miss.; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Matt Wade, Joshua Leath, Ryder Hollis, Carson Dobbs, Justin McDaniels and Dale Lawler. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Lozahatchee Masonic Lodge #97 F&AM. Mr. Wade was a lifelong resident of Piedmont, a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Piedmont. He was a member of the Lozahatchee Masonic Lodge #97 F&AM, where he was a Worshipful Master when the existing lodge was built and he received his 50-year pin in 2002. He retired from Piedmont Hardware as manager and was the owner of Anchor Brand Farm. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Leath; an infant son and parents, Jett and Mary Wade. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to Piedmont Rescue Squad, P.O Box 333, Piedmont, AL 36272, or the First United Methodist Church of Piedmont, 300 North Main Street, Piedmont, AL 36272.
